Educating policymakers on the importance of charitable giving: Fly-In Hill Day 2014

November 20, 2014 marks the second annual Fly-In Hill Day being led by the Charitable Giving Coalition. In the video below, Martha Schumacher, ACFRE, chair of the AFP PAC, talks about the importance and impact of the fight for tax reform.

Congress recently established a Budget Conference Committee that is charged with making recommendations to Congress on federal spending. These recommendations could propose changes to the tax code. Furthermore, a comprehensive tax reform bill is expected to emerge from the House Ways and Means Committee and perhaps from the Senate Finance Committee as well, which could include changes to the charitable deduction.

Given these recent developments, Charitable Giving Coalition’s efforts to protect private giving incentives become even more crucial, as they continue to educate policymakers on the importance of  charitable giving and how it touches each and every one of their constituents.
